Dr. Angela Duckworth hosts virtual Parent Academy

Orange County Public Schools is excited to announce that Dr. Angela Duckworth, renowned scientist, professor, author, and Founder and CEO of Character Lab, will host a session during the first Virtual Parent Academy of the school year.

The theme for this Virtual Parent Academy event is “What Builds Character?”

In this 60-minute virtual session, Dr. Duckworth will share how parents can foster the mindsets, skills and environments that support the social-emotional well-being of all students. 
You are invited to participate in this important event. 

The session will be offered in English and Spanish. Additional translations in Portuguese and Haitian Creole will be available at a later date on the Parent and Family Engagement website.
 
OCPS has partnered with Character Lab since 2017 through the Research, Accountability and Grants office. Character Lab is a non-profit organization with the mission to advance scientific insights that help kids thrive. By connecting researchers with educators, Character Lab seeks to create greater knowledge about the conditions that lead to social, emotional, academic, and physical well-being for young people throughout the country.

Feb. 25 – Positive Digital Citizenship
April 22 – Planning for Life After High School
