Board selects semi-finalists for Superintendent position

Orange County School Board members reviewed the 15 applications for the Superintendent position, with assistance from the Florida School Boards Association which is coordinating the search. All applicants are listed on the Superintendent Search page of our website, and tally sheets of each board members' selections are posted to BoardDocs.
The Board moved the following three applicants forward in the search process as semi-finalists:
Applicant #10 - Dr. Maria F. Vazquez
Applicant #14 - Dr. Peter B. Licata
Applicant #15 - Dr. Rafaela Espinal
Next steps: Tomorrow, the FSBA will submit an additional round of preliminary questions to these three semi-finalists to answer via video and written response by 12:00 a.m. on June 2, 2022. The School Board will then conduct a work session on June 7, 2022 to discuss interview questions, interview schedules, the method/process for selection of superintendent, contract negotiation items/process, and other items as may be needed.
