OCPS School-to-Work program has a twenty-five year partnership with Universal Orlando, which provides an alternative approach to traditional high school. The Universal Education Center (UEC) is located on the grounds of Universal Orlando Resort (UO), and students work either side of their academic core classes in the morning or afternoon. Students are paid $12 an hour during their shifts.

A key highlight of UEC is the Mentoring Program, as each student is paired with a successful employee within Universal’s management team. Mentors meet weekly with their mentees, and these relationships cultivate further learning beyond the workplace or classroom.

With very small class sizes in our brand new learning space, individualized and focused attention can be given to all students from our OCPS teachers to help them reach their graduation & post-secondary goals.

To enter the program, students must meet these basic requirements:

  • 16 years of age or older
  • Grade Point Average of at least 1.7
  • Flexibility to be successful in a non-traditional school setting
  • Commit to working 3 hours a day, Monday - Friday, 15 hours a week
  • No major discipline referrals

How can I learn more, or register my interest in joining the UEC?

Students may reach out for more information by calling the School-to-Work Recruiter at (407) 318-3150 ext. 6382231, or email:  or message us on social media @School2WorkOCPS with the icons listed below.

  Administration Update

Welcome back to Semester 2 of our 2018-2019 school year!

The countdown has begun for our graduating Seniors on the final stretch of their high school education. FAFSA completion, scholarship applications, finishing online classes, maintaining good grades – these are not just goals for our 12th graders but ALL our students. In truth, every semester of school is just as important as your final one, so to all of us staff and students alike - make it count. Ask for guidance where needed, do the work prescribed and seek opportunities where you can grow.

Upcoming College visits are for all grades, to spark potential interest in a field of study or career to join. Get involved!

Lastly, we have a date and location for our School to Work PROM with a roaring ‘20s Great Gatsby theme on April 20th at the Florida Mall Hotel, 6:30pm. Cost will be $30, includes a sumptuous dinner and is going to be epic so make sure you get your tickets early from your site Lead and come dressed to impress.

Hope to see you soon at our school, reach out for anything I can help you with, cheers!
