Rigorous Coursework

Everything Waterford does is focused on nurturing the success of their students. There are many different academic paths that lead to the same end result – high student achievement. Waterford Elementary provides access to challenging classes and programs to help all students accelerate their academic performance toward meeting and exceeding standards. 

Magnet and/or Special Programs

There are several classes and programs at Waterford Elementary that provide a challenging and stimulating environment for learning that enables students with talents and interests to gain extraordinary levels of knowledge and skills. These programs include: Kiwanis Club, Battle of the Books, Garden Club, Sunshine State Young Readers Book Club, Student council, WCAT News Crew, Safety Patrols and Terrific Kids.

Visual and Performing Arts

Every student at Waterford Elementary has an opportunity to develop their own innate creativity and learn to respect the artistic expressions of others. Students are offered various opportunities to participate in quality, sequential, standards-based instruction in courses and programs related to visual and performing arts. Opportunities include: Talent Show, Chorus, Drama and Dance.

Athletics and Extracurricular Programs

The purpose of athletics and extracurricular programs in every OCPS school is to promote good sportsmanship, academic achievement, and athletic talent. The teachers and administrators at Waterford Elementary believe that a dynamic program of student activities is vital to the educational development of every student.  Student activities include: Smile Mile Fun Run, Jump Rope for Heart, and Wildcats on the Run.
