Friday, September 15

4:50 p.m. -- OCPS classes will resume on Monday, September 18. Parents are encouraged to review walking or bike riding routes with their children prior to Monday, as the county and cities are working to clear debris.

As a result of our school closures stemming from the storm, the superintendent used the limit of her authority to waive two of the six make-up days. Currently, students are scheduled to make up two instructional days as indicated on our approved calendar:

  • Friday, October 27, 2017
  • Monday, November 20, 2017

Friday, September 8

Regarding school closures, Friday and Monday, and in hopes of relieving additional concerns during the hurricane, OCPS has decided that the two school days lost will not be made up. Under the superintendent's authority, it has been determined that such a waiver is allowed because the school-year schedules will still meet the state-required minimum instructional minutes.
