OCPS Curb Appeal
Posted on 10/30/2017

In the weeks leading up to the 2018-19 school year, the 11 new, replacement or renovated schools in Orange County held Sneak Peek events and invited the public to see their facilities. OCPS spent $259,953,000 on the Class of 2018 schools, which included one new school, Audubon Park School (K-8), and ten replacements/renovations: Lake Como School (K-8), Dover Shores Elementary, Frangus Elementary, Hidden Oaks Elementary, Hillcrest Elementary, Hungerford Elementary, Maxey Elementary, Union Park Elementary, Pine Hills Elementary and Sally Ride Elementary.

Each school features a single, secured entrance, separate bus and car loops, classroom and lab spaces, a media center with CCTV studio, an administration area, tot lot and youth lot playgrounds, a covered play area, green space and a cafeteria/multipurpose room. The two K-8 schools include gyms and outdoor athletic amenities. All schools have the latest technology, including interactive touch-screen TVs. Districtwide, all students from grade 6 through high school are issued a personal digital device to use for the school year, including the middle school students at K-8 schools.
