Eileen D. Fernandez has been with the Office of Legal Services since 2010, and her practice is focused on legislative and congressional affairs, education policy, and K-12 curriculum matters.   While at OCPS, she has also practiced in the areas of real estate and facilities, inter-governmental relations, student discipline, student custody matters, and public records law. Prior to joining OCPS, she was in private practice for nine years and her focus was on the areas of commercial real estate finance and banking, mortgage and real estate law and land use law.     

Eileen is a member of the Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section and the City, County and Local Government Law Section of the Florida Bar. She served as a member of the Board of Directors for Florida State University College of Law. She is the former Vice-Chair for the City of Orlando Nominating Board and also served as a member of the Board of Directors for the Central Florida Real Estate Council and on the Technical Assistance Committee for the Hispanic Business Initiative Fund of Greater Orlando.

Eileen received her B.A. from Rollins College in 1997 and her J.D. from Florida State University College of Law in 2001. She is a Board Certified Specialist in City, County, and Local Government Law and in addition is a Designated Professional Lobbyist.

She has presented at two seminars for the National Business Institute entitled, “Troubleshooting Title and Title Insurance Problems” and “How to Obtain Good Title in Real Estate Transactions”, as well as presenting on school enrollment issues and student harassment and bullying issues at the Annual Joint Conference for the Florida School Board Association.

Eileen is fluent in Spanish.
