Welcome to the OCPS Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Site

Welcome to the Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) web site of the Orange County School District! The spectrum of autism is very wide as are the specialized needs of the students and their teachers within the educational setting. Orange County has an array of educational services to ensure that students with ASD receive their education with their non-disabled peers in the educational placement most appropriate for their individualized needs. Every effort is made to educate students in their home school, accessing the general education curriculum alongside their non-disabled peers. Where the student receives their education, however, is dependent upon a careful individualized analysis of the student needs as determined by the IEP team.

Goals for this site is to provide:

  • Current information about Autism Spectrum Disorder and OCPS's educational services for students on the spectrum.
  • Links to various school district, community, state, and national resources helpful for parents and educators.
  • Answers to frequently asked questions about Autism and OCPS.
