Other Mentoring Programs

COMPACT

The Orlando/Orange County COMPACT program is a business/education partnership aimed at assisting under-achieving high school students - particularly those at risk of becoming school dropouts.

The heart of the program is the mentoring component where youngsters are matched one-on-one with volunteer mentors. These mentors meet weekly with their students providing guidance, support, academic assistance and encouragement.

COMPACT needs business people to serve as mentors to have a positive impact on the life of a young person.

Read2Succeed

Read2Succeed provides one-on-one reading tutoring and mentoring to second grade students reading below grade level. Reading Mentors and students meet once a week for 30-45 minutes, on school campus, during school hours. The intention is to impart a love of books and learning, to instill positive attitudes toward reading, and to help students gain vital skills in social and personal development. Help a second grader Read2Succeed - A child. A book. You.
