Textbook Issue Resolution

OCPS is committed to ensuring that every teacher and student has the major tool of instruction.

Protocols for Delivery Drivers:

SAIA, UPS Freight and UPS are all required under FSBD contract to:

  • physically bring delivery through the first set of doors into the school and outside of the weather
  • break the pallet down and get the boxes into the school if they are not able to get the pallet through the doors
  • not leave materials under an overhang outside (this is not considered inside delivery and the overhang does not provide protection from our Florida rain storms)

SAIA, UPS Freight and UPS are NOT required to:

  • move the delivery to a classroom or separate location other than the first set of doors that they come into

SCHOOL PERSONNEL are responsible to:

  • count the cartons at the time of delivery and make sure none of the boxes are damaged
  • sign the delivery stating that all cartons have been received and are in good condition
  • take the time to count and verify the carton count before signing the Proof of Delivery
  • reply promptly to the Verification of Textbook Shipments form
