In the weeks leading up to the 2018-19 school year, the 11 new, replacement or renovated schools in Orange County held Sneak Peek events and invited the public to see their facilities.
OCPS threw open the doors to the public before the first day of school for Sneak Peeks at 11 schools. These schools were either new to the district or were replacements or renovations of existing schools. The Sneak Peek events were a "thank you" to taxpayers, who made the size and scope of the current OCPS building program possible through Orange County's half-penny sales tax. Tours were available at each school during their Sneak Peek. The 11 schools added two new K-8s to the district and replaced nine elementary campuses countywide. Sally Ride Elementary merged Durrance and Cypress Park elementary schools and are now home to the district's elementary aviation and aerospace magnet program.
