OCPS Parent Academy

Research shows that students achieve more when parents are involved in their child's education. In order to provide families with a vehicle to empower them and their children. The OCPS Parent Academy is an educational program designed to enhance student achievement through the support of community and family engagement. The program's purpose is to strengthen and build capacity of families.

Workshops are conducted by experts from the district, school-based personnel and community partners. Parents will receive an array of support for their children and themselves.

The face-to-face academies focus on three primary tracks:

  • Student Achievement
  • Parenting and Advocacy
  • Personal and Individual Growth

Free for all families
9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Onsite registration will be available during the hours of 8:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. on the day of event. Pre-registration recommended.

Special accommodations provided to children of participating parents. Children of participating parents have an opportunity to attend the Youth Academy. The Youth Academy follows the same schedule as the adult sessions. The Youth Academy is for students ages 4 to 18. Registration required for children and parents must attend adult sessions.

We have 2 ways to register:

Catch the Summer Wave

*This event will be delivered virtually

Learning should not stop when summer break begins! This academy will focus on the importance of student achievement, success and opportunities provided to families. This event will give parents an opportunity to learn about educational resources, programs, and strategies and ideas to ensure that learning continues over the summer break.
