The placement specialist can answer any questions you may have about making accommodations for Special Needs Students, those with Individualized Education Plans (IEP’s), in your classes. She will distribute a confidential list of our special needs students working toward a standard diploma and their IEP accommodations. Please make every effort to make sure you are meeting the accommodations for these students. The Placement Special also oversees all of our Special Diploma students.
The 504 Coordinator can answer any questions you may have about making accommodations for students in your classes who have a 504 Plan and she can coordinate 504 Plan meetings to determine how effective the current accommodations are as well as conduct potential eligibility meetings for students considering a 504 Plan. She will distribute a confidential list of our 504
Plan students and their accommodations.

The ESOL Compliance coordinator insures that WPHS is meeting the standards and practices the State has set for ESOL students. She can answer any of your questions about making accommodations for ESOL students in your classes.

Student Assistance and Family Empowerment Program The program fashioned after the Student Assistance Program (SAP) model and is delivered by the SAFE Coordinator. A team approach is used to work with at-risk students and their families. Services provided by the SAFE Program include:
• prevention programs for alcohol, tobacco and other drugs (ATOD)
• bullying prevention programs
• SAFE Ambassador Program and Prevention Clubs
• Partners in Change Conference for a Safe and Drug Free Community
• programs that promote developmental asset building
• ATOD and violence prevention curricula
• peer mediation and conflict resolution
• psycho-educational support groups for students
• homeless advocacy
• crisis intervention and post-intervention
• parent education and resources
• community service provider partnerships

CHILL COUNSELOR ROOM 291
CHILL (Community Help & Intervention in Life's Lessons) counseling program. Sponsored by the Winter Park Health Foundation, the CHILL program is a free counseling program for students and families in Winter Park High and all of its elementary and middle feeder schools. The Foundation provides a licensed mental health counselor in each of these 12 schools to help students address a variety of emotional issues.

The guidance clerk is the guidance gatekeeper. She sets appointments for students to meet with their counselors, schedules visits from colleges, distributes test results report cards, progress reports, schedules and more and schedules parent/teacher conferences at the parents request to speak with more than one of their student’s teachers. Teachers and Parents wishing to meet one on one are asked to schedule those conferences between the individuals involved.
The registrar registers all new students. If you need a grade from a transferring new student, she is the person to ask. She orders and processes transcripts for both students new to WPHS and students needing them for college.
The records clerk is responsible for all student cumulative folders, ordering student diplomas, keeping a running list of graduating seniors. If you need to look into a student’s record, she is the person to ask.
