·         Attention seniors!!! Please bring your College Acceptance letters and Scholarship Award letters to guidance so that we can recognize you. 
·         Any senior who has not yet scheduled an appointment with their counselor should do so in order to have a credit check completed. It is important for seniors to schedule an appointment and make sure that they are on track for graduation.
·         There will be a Financial Aid Night for seniors and their parents/ guardians on Monday, December 17, at 6:30 pm.
·         The application for the Florida Bright Futures scholarship is now available.  Any student with a 2.75 or above should complete the online application. 
·         Valencia College- Upcoming Events:
Wednesday, February 13, 2013 is Valencia Application day for Seniors.   Students who are interested can start signing up the week of December 10 on the College information Board in Student Services. This will be an opportunity for Seniors to sit with a representative from Valencia College to complete their on-line application.

·         The College and Career Room is open daily during lunch for students to get information on scholarships, colleges, ACT/SAT information, and so much more.
·         College visit information: In order to see the representatives from each college, students must sign-up ahead of time on the “College Information” board in Student Services. They will be given a pass to attend the sessions.

·         Feeling a little lost about financial aid? Don’t know where to begin with college applications? Need assistance finding the right scholarship for your future? Please stop by the Student Success Center (1608) on Monday, Wednesday, and every other Friday in order to meet with Catherine Cisneros. She is an excellent resource person from the Hope Community Center that is more than happy to assist you with college applications, scholarships, and financial aid. Catherine is available before school, during lunch, and after school.
·         If you have taken any of the following courses on Florida Virtual School (FLVS), Compass, Night School, or at a Private School the state requires that you also pass the End of Course Exam (EOC) in order to earn credit; Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, and Biology. It is your responsibility to let your counselor know that you need to take the EOC. Please make an appointment to see your counselor if you need to sign up for an exam.
·         Attention Blue Darters!! Having trouble meeting with your guidance counselor? Is your scheduled appointment two weeks away? Don’t know who your guidance counselor is? Help is on the way! Starting on Monday, December 3, there will be a Guidance Corner set up in the cafeteria. On Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday during all lunch shifts there will be two counselors available to address your concerns. All appointments will be scheduled through the Guidance Corner starting on Monday, December 3.
