You are about to embark on new and exciting options at Oak Ridge High School. These options provide state of the art technology, excellent curriculum, college options, and outstanding future career paths.

Oak Ridge has an outstanding network in place with the latest technology available in the industry. Students use the latest hardware and software tools that are found in corporations throughout the country. The network provides for students to access their work anywhere on campus. Students will enjoy working on our state-of-the-art technology.

The curriculum provides students with real-world experience and knowledge. Two tracks, Interactive Media, and Gaming provide students with a variety of courses in the magnet. Students take classes with their academy team throughout the school day. Teachers use digital media in the classroom and have experience in the digital media industry. With collaboration industry leaders and post secondary education, several workshops and field trips are offered to expand the experiences of our students.

Students completing the academies will
stand out in the crowd when applying to colleges and universities. The level of coursework and experience will set them apart from others. College credit may be earned while in the programs through the Tech Prep program.

Our academy programs offer great opportunities to gain knowledge and experience in a field that is growing rapidly. Let's face it, on an average, information technology jobs pay 85 percent more than other jobs. Furthermore, in just central Florida there are over 42,000 jobs in the industry and it continues to grow. Orlando is home to over 1,200 digital media companies that focus on modeling, simulation, training, film, theme park industry and gaming.
