The Monticello Scholar Academy of Excellence offers a course of study designed for students who compete academically at the national level. This rigorous and relevant curriculum will build and develop personal relationships. The Monticello Scholar Academy of Excellence focuses on developing the whole child through a tradition of:

Students who meet the requirements must fill out a Monticello Scholar Academy of Excellence application and attend an interview and essay appointment.

 

Program Requirements

  1. Minimum of 3.5 Unweighted GPA
  2. Level 4 or 5 Achievement on all FCAT
  3. NRT’s of 7, 8 or 9
  4. Complete Application Process with Interview
  5. Teacher’s Recommendation (3 minimum)
  6. Student Writing Sample
  7. Parental Contract
  8. Annual Academic & Behavioral Review Meeting
  9. Take PSAT Test in 9th, 10th & 11th Grades
  10. Participation in Saturday Scholar Conference Once Every Nine Weeks
  11. Portfolio and Interdisciplinary Project

Important Timelines
Priority Application Deadline is TBA

Interviews for the students will be held in March.  At that time, students will be asked to respond to a writing prompt.

Applicants will be notified of acceptance/non-acceptance by mail by TBA.
