Dual Language Enrichment Magnet Program
Excerpt of an Article in the February 10, 2011 West Orange Times Newspaper.
Tildenville Elementary School has been serving the students of west Winter Garden and Oakland for 104 years.
In 2000, the TES staff began instense training and planning to implement the first Dual-Language Enrichment Program in Orange County. Staff members visited several dual-language schools around the state and traveled to California to be trained to implement this program.
In the past 10 years, Tildenville students in the dual-language program have excelled in both English and Spanish. Their proficiency in speaking, reading and writing in both languages has exceeded staff expectations. The students FCAT scores in grades three through five have shown that the dual-language students not only are reading, writing and working in math on grade level, but the majority of these students are working above grade level.
This is one of only two Dual-Language Enrichment magnet programs in Orange County.
