ADDitions and Volunteers
We are always looking for interested parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles who can provide a few hours of community service to our students. There are many opportunities to peak your interest. You might want to join us in the media center helping our students chose their next favorite author. Perhaps your skills in a foreign language can help a student struggle to learn your native tongue. We are always looking for professionals to spend the day with us on Teach-In in November where you can spread the word about your career and what our students need to be doing now to be marketable in the future.
Gotha Middle School participates in the Orange County Public Schools' volunteer program called ADDitions. ADDitions volunteers meet the needs of students through tutoring, participating in interesting groups, preparing educational materials, and doing anything else suited to their talents and interests. Volunteers supplement the work of classroom teachers and school staff by providing an extra pair of hands to help meet students' needs. There are many opportunities to become involved in PTO-sponsored activities at Gotha Middle School. You don't have to commit to a yearlong activity-many times, help is needed on a one-time or short-term basis. The following are some of the different areas where you can volunteer. Book fair, picture day, staff appreciation, red ribbon week, nurse fund, membership, FSA snacks, 8th grade dance, guardian angel, reflections program, beautification, and many more!
Please consider donating some of your time or talents-together we can make a difference.
