Drop Off and Pick Up Times

Parents, in order to be sure of the safety of our students we would like to make you aware of the times for dropping off and picking up students. Students should not be brought to school prior to 7:00 a.m. on any given morning unless they have a specific place to report where they will be supervised by an adult.

Only the following students should be on campus prior to that time:

  • Students who are members of the before-school YMCA program
  • Students who attending a (sponsored) club meeting
  • Students meeting a teacher for tutoring (pre-arranged only)
  • Students attending detention

Those students who attend clubs, reporting to teachers or reporting for detention need to arrive just-in-time for their activity and not earlier. Once again, the reason for this is supervision. There are no adults available to supervise students in the courtyard or other common areas prior to 7:00 a.m. (If you find that your work obligations require your student to reach school early, supervision is provided through the morning YMCA program at a minimal cost per week. Information regarding this program will be available after the school year starts.)

Afternoon pick up should be completed by 2:10 p.m. (M,T,R,F) and 1:10 p.m. (W) at which time the teaching day and supervision ends. (Our offices close at 3:15 p.m.) If you are unable to pick your student up within this time frame, we encourage you to have your student become a member of the YMCA After-School Program. This program is free of charge. It insures your student a safe place to be with adult supervision. (You will hear more information about this program at orientation and open house.)
