  • About Wendy Ivory

    Ms. Wendy Ivory is a product of OCPS. She attended Aloma and Azalea Park Elementary, Glenridge Middle School, Winter Park High School and she graduated from Edgewater High School in 1986. She went on to study Accounting at the University of Central Florida, but later changed her major to Exceptional Education. She graduated from the University of Central Florida in 1993 with a Bachelor of Science in Mental Retardation and received her Masters from Nova Southeastern University in  Educational Leadership in 2003. 

    Wendy Ivory started her teaching career at Union Park Middle school teaching Profoundly Mentally Handicapped students. She later transferred to Windy Ridge School where she taught Trainable Mentally handicapped students. She was also the Staffing Specialist at Hunters Creek Elementary. It was at Hunters Creek Elementary that she was inspired to get her Masters in Ed Leadership to become an Administrator. She opened up West Creek Elementary as an assistant principal then was transferred to Catalina Elementary. Nine weeks into the school year at Catalina she served as the acting principal until the principal returned 9 weeks later. Wendy Ivory served as principal at Eccleston Elementary and John Young Elementary. She led turnaround efforts as principal at Sadler Elementary, Ivey Lane Elementary and OCPs ACE. Before being promoted to the Executive Leader for Exceptional Student Education, she served as an Executive Area Director in the West Learning Community.

    Personally, Wendy Ivory has three sons, ages 26, 28 and 38 who all live in Florida. Kendell (26) works for Parramore Kidz Zone and graduated from UCF with a Business Degree. Jamal (28) lives in Ft. Lauderdale and is a successful artist. Joshua (38) lives in Windermere, Florida where he works as a computer programmer. He and his wife are expecting their first son in October.
