New Teacher Induction Program
The OCPS New Teacher Induction Program is a multi-year program designed to support beginning teachers within their first years as an educator in OCPS. It empowers beginning teachers and helps develop an understanding of the vision of the district and expectations for teaching and learning. The program introduces participants to OCPS’s professional culture through both district-level induction and school-based onboarding. Through mentorship, collaboration and ongoing professional learning, the program ensures every new teacher begins their OCPS journey with confidence, clarity, and a strong foundation for success.
The target audience will be educators new to OCPS with 0-1 year of experience who hold a professional or temporary teaching certificate. This includes social workers, counselors, school psychologists, and speech and language pathologists, who are working under a teaching license. Induction completion meets the requirements outlined in state statute and Management Directive A 07-Induction Program for Instructors.
