The Florida Department of Education is committed to ensuring the continuity of the instructional and learning support services provided to communities when standard operating procedures are disrupted due to emergency situations.

The information below is specific to Orange County Public Schools and can be enacted when and if there is disruption due to emergency situations.

Reopening After Emergency Closures


Description:
The Florida Department of Education took bold steps to be the first state to reopen schools for in-person instruction five days a week during the 2020-21 school year. In addition, Florida provided equally rigorous, innovative education options to families. Florida prioritized the health and safety of families, educators, and school and district staff while ensuring access to high-quality educational options.

Florida provided additional flexibilities that created pathways for school districts to craft their own locally conceived plans. Each district’s plan prioritized the safety and security of students and educators and ensured all Florida students continued to receive a world-class education.
