President Obama launched the My Brother’s Keeper (MBK) Initiative in February 2014 to address persistent opportunity gaps faced by boys and young men of color and to ensure that all young people realize their full potential. OCPS Superintendent, Dr. Barbara Jenkins, in conjunction with other members of the Council of Great City Schools, has accepted the challenge to support targeted students with the mentorship needed to become college and career ready. The OCPS Minority Achievement Office has developed best practices and expectations for the successful implementation of this initiative at the school level.
