Orange County Public Schools

The School Board of Orange County held a special board meeting at 4:45 p.m. at the Ronald Blocker Educational Leadership Center to vote on proposed changes to the Code of Student Conduct for 2021-22 school year. 

School Board approved revisions to Policy JIC – Code of Student Conduct for 2021-22 

It was a unanimous vote the Code of Student Code for the 2021-22 school year has been approved. The revisions include compliance with all applicable federal, state laws, Florida State Board of Education Rules, Board policies, administrative rules, procedures and guidelines. Revisions were made to the existing policy language to include content, formatting, and terminology edits that are consistent with statutory language to the extent possible. 

• Addition of language to Section III: Student Notifications Consultation with Law Enforcement to comply with SB 590 which modifies Section 1006.07, Florida Statutes. 
• Addition of language to Section III: Student Notifications Petty Acts of Misconduct to comply with SB 590 which modifies Section 1006.07, Florida Statutes.
