This summer the district will again offer voluntary opportunities for teachers to attend professional learning.

Access the courses offered for Summer PD. This is to serve as a tool for you to view the courses offered. The dates, times, and locations of courses will be posted on the Canvas PD Catalog. All courses are subject to change. It is recommended you do not print the course offerings, but return to this site to view the courses when necessary. For questions regarding specific courses, contact the Administrator of the course who is named on the spreadsheet.

Courses will be released between 4:00 PM and 4:30 PM.

For courses that offer compensation, the rate of pay is $20 per hour (not including lunch) based on the negotiated rate of pay described in the contract, Article XVI, section E. The in-service hours for each course are located on the Summer PD spreadsheet.

The release of courses will occur as follows:
 Wednesday, May 1, 2019 Pre-K, Elementary (K-5)
 Monday, May 6, 2019 K-8, Middle (6-8), Secondary (Middle and High)
 Monday, May 13, 2019 (9-12), Post-Secondary
 Wednesday, May 15, 2019 K-12 (This is for courses that are offered across grade levels, and not specific to elementary, middle or high school.)

Download the PD planning sheet. Teachers will select courses appropriate to their position and certification, and complete the planning sheet. The planning sheet must have a signature of approval from the teacher’s principal which indicates the teacher is the intended audience for the courses requested and the principal supports attendance. IF any courses are denied, teachers must remove themselves from the Canvas PD Catalog course roster.

Teachers attending summer professional development (face to face) must physically have their signed planning sheet showing principal approval. Teachers taking online coursework will be asked to upload it. There will be no admittance to the class without principal signed approval for summer PD. Teachers who are not the intended audience for the course will not be admitted.

Teachers who are unable to attend a course must remove themselves from the Canvas PD Catalog course roster. Teachers who do not receive confirmation of registration through Canvas should not attempt to attend the course. Only teachers who are on the Canvas roster will gain entrance to the course.
