A Visit to Associated Builders and Contractors
Posted on 03/08/2017

Chief Facilities Officer John Morris and Orange County School Board Chairman Bill Sublette visited the Associated Builders and Contractors Central Florida Chapter last month to discuss school construction. Sublette thanked the ABC members and Orange County taxpayers for supporting the renewal of the half-penny sales tax in 2014. That funding source is essential to the school district’s $3 billion capital program.ABC meeting

Morris also told the ABC members that with growth, the need for elementary schools is enormous. “We can’t build elementary schools fast enough,” particularly in booming areas such as Lake Nona and Horizon West.

The school district is opening 6 new schools and 7 rebuilt schools in August 2017.
