Cyberbullying is generally defined as any unwanted, repeated, and harmful acts that take place using technology. This may involve bullying via text messages, social networking, chat rooms, and any other computer-related mode of communication. Forms of cyberbullying may include gossip, rumors, threats, mean or hateful comments, unwanted posting or texting of pictures or videos, and fake social networking profiles.
Cyberbullying has the potential to be more dangerous than traditional forms of bullying because it happens in front of a virtually unlimited audience among a social world of technology that is available 24 hours a day. It can be difficult to track the offender, as messages and images are often posted anonymously.
