Wearing hard hats and safety vests, some of the top ladies on the OCPS leadership team promoted the district building program while raising money for charity June 10. The annual Orlando City Foundation PlayBingo event raised money for Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies at the Hyatt Regency Orlando.
The OCPS table featured a 3D rendering of the OCPS Academic Center for Excellence, provided by Baker Barrios Architects. The vests worn by the OCPS leadership team were provided by Williams Company, which is building the school. The innovative preschool- through eighth-grade school will open in downtown Orlando on August 14 and will include innovative partnerships to provide preschool care, health care, social workers and athletic facilities for the surrounding neighborhood.
The table placemats were historic blueprints of Orange County schools, and laptops on the table played a presentation featuring all of OCPS’ new schools for 2017. That included video fly-throughs of Innovation Middle School and Timber Springs Middle School, as well as a construction timelapse of Windermere High School, on the Facilities YouTube channel at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCt74VlSETVKS3J5bUa9YoBw
