Last week, approximately 4,500 members advisors and guests across Florida attended the Florida FFA Convention & Expo. As you can see from the picture above, OCPS FFA was well represented. The students and teachers attended business sessions, leadership workshops, teacher trainings, competed in state leadership development events, were recognized for many state honors, attended a career expo and heard remarks from keynote speakers.
Here’s a brief recap of OCPS FFA state honors:
* 3 state champion career development event (competition) honors
* 3 state proficiency award winners
The above members/teams and students will now represent Florida at the national level.
* 2 national chapter awards - these chapters will now earn a national ranking
* 22 state career development event (competition) 2nd-5th place honors
* 11 members announced for the American FFA Degree (receive membership degree at national convention)
* 14 members received the State FFA Degree
