The OCPS Food and Nutrition Services team introduced a new menu that features fresh produce, fruit, grain, milk and beef from Florida farmers.
The new Florida Day Menu includes:
Miami Beef Burger on a Florida bun
Local hydroponic Romaine leaf lettuce (featured as a Chef salad)
Red Roasted Potatoes
Tomato & Cucumber Salad
Strawberries and Tangerines
Milk
The initiative supports and stimulates the local economy; provides students a fresher product when purchased closer to home and reduces the district’s carbon footprint. The district’s food service program continues to prepare fresh from the farm produce by creating recipes for slicing, cooking and serving directly from our school kitchens. The Florida Department of Agriculture connects OCPS Food and Nutrition Services with local farmers.
