Today is the annual districtwide PLC day to provide teachers with resources and inspiration for the year ahead. Lake Buena Vista High hosted Media Specialists, Media Clerks and ITS staffers.
Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer kicked off the event sharing his appreciation for OCPS teachers and staff, and spoke about the value of partnerships, like with the Orange County library system, and his book club for all ages.
The media specialists also enjoyed a panel discussion with YA authors: James Ponti, Christina Diaz Gonzalez, Jess Redman (author of Quintessence, Mayor Dyers’ August read) and Alyson Gerber.
In additional to learning what's new for the year and best practices for their jobs, attendees had time to connect with colleagues and grab some fun swag from the vendor hall.
