Superintendent's Summer Reading

A universe of stories...What's your Story? OCPS Summer Reading

A Universe of Stories...What’s Your Story?

Students, parents, and educators thank you for visiting to obtain reading lists by grade level, search for books, apps, interactive literacy websites, e-books, parent resources, and literacy events around town. Students may also access the OCPS’s Summer Reading Challenge via LaunchPad. This challenge encourages students to read and log their minutes electronically.

The theme this year is “A Universe of Stories...What’s Your Story?”. OCPS Social Media will be sharing the literacy message and encouraging families to have students read this summer while they hashtag and post pictures of their reading #OCPSReads. Students (over 13 years of age) and Parents (students under 13 years of age)may share their favorite reading stories via OCPS social media.

Orange County Public Schools along with several community partners have created a summer reading program 5million minutes this summer. Visit LaunchPad to log in to the Beanstack app  for your students to keep track of how many minutes they read each day. Students can log how much time they spend reading for any reason and from any of the programs listed on this website.

  • Find A Book

    Find a Book
Florida's Education Commissioner and the Library Youth Program have created the “Find a Book." Through “Find a Book,” students can build customized reading lists based on their interests and reading abilities, and then locate their selections at local public libraries or Barnes and Noble bookstores.
