This summer the district will again offer voluntary opportunities for teachers to attend professional learning. Summer PD this year will be all virtual, no face to face.

View the list of offered courses. The courses and detailed information will be posted in the Canvas PD Catalog. All courses are subject to change. It is recommended you do not print the course offerings, but return to this site to view the courses when necessary. For questions regarding specific courses, contact the Director/Contact of the course who is named on the spreadsheet.

Courses will be released on May 22, 2020 between 4:00 PM and 4:30 PM.

The professional development offerings on this site are the ONLY courses that will receive compensation. This includes courses in June and July. The rate of pay is $20 per hour based on the negotiated rate of pay described in the contract, Article XVI, section D. The in-service hours for each course are located on the Summer PD spreadsheet. Compensation will be given after full completion of the course within the start and end dates.

Make a copy of and complete the Summer 2020 Professional Development Planning Sheet. Click here for the planning sheet. Teachers will select courses appropriate to their position and certification, and complete the planning sheet. The planning sheet must have a signature of approval from the teacher’s principal which indicates the teacher is the intended audience for the courses requested and the principal supports completion. IF any courses are denied, teachers must remove themselves from the Canvas PD Catalog course roster.
The planning sheet/principal verification form can be completed by you digitally and emailed to your principal who can print, sign, and send back to you for upload. The planning sheet does not have to be uploaded prior to registering for a course, but must be uploaded before the start date of the course.

Teachers registering for summer professional development must upload the signed planning sheet showing principal approval. There will be no access to the class without principal signed approval for Summer PD. Teachers who are not the intended audience for the course will not be granted access.
