About our program

The Able Trust High School High Tech (HSHT) is designed to provide high school students with disabilities the opportunity to explore jobs or post-secondary education and prepares students for life after high school.

In doing so, HSHT is able to boast a 99% graduation rate annually, twice the rate of all other students with disabilities in the state of Florida. Furthermore, 83% of Florida HSHT graduates entering post-secondary education, continuing education or employment, compared to 50% of other graduates with disabilities in Florida.

In Orange County, HSHT is offered at all of its High Schools and provided during the school day with an alignment to the Transition Planning curriculum. With the alignment to this curriculum, participants of HSHT not only receive daily instruction in self-determination and self-advocacy, personal and career planning, legal issues, workplace competencies, post-secondary education, citizenship and community involvement and independent living, but are also provided the opportunity for real world experiences in the community.

“High School High Tech tells ESE students, Yes, you do matter! Yes, you are important! Yes, we do recognize you”
