Exceptional Student Education Non Public Services provides evaluation services to students who do not participate in the public school system and who are in kindergarten through twelfth grade. These services include assistance in initially determining if a non-public school student may need special education services, and conducting reevaluations for identified students with disabilities.

OCPS also partners with Orange County non-profit private schools to provide support and services to students with disabilities who are in kindergarten through twelfth grade. These services are determined through the process that takes place between OCPS and private schools representatives on an annual basis.

All not-for-profit private schools in Orange County are eligible to partner (affirm) with OCPS to receive the following equitable services for their students with disabilities for the upcoming school year:

  • Speech Impaired and Language Impaired services for eligible students
  • Reading and math support for eligible students
  • Web-based interventions and supports
  • Exceptional Student Education professional learning (coaching, trainings and workshops) designed for private school educators who serve students with disabilities

    How to Submit a Request-

Submitting a request to our office involves two steps:

Step 1: Complete this Parent Request Form.

Step 2: Complete OCPS registration. To process your request, ALL students must be entered into the Orange County Public Schools (OCPS) system. This is required, even if you do not intent to enroll your child in a public school.

Please note: Completing OCPS registration DOES NOT enroll your child in an OCPS public school. This step is used only to create a student record in the district's system.

Beginning this year, the OCPS online registration requirement applies to all students, including those who are:

    • Enrolled in a private school
    • Home education students
    • Homeless students
    • Migrant students

After submitting this Parent Request Form, please register your child through the OCPS registration portal: OCPS online student registration link
