OCPS opened two new high schools in 2021, four schools total

Photo of LBVHSTwo new high schools opened in Orange County, Florida, in August. The schools, which will create an additional 5,400 seats for high school students in the part of the county closest to Walt Disney World, mark the first year OCPS has opened two high schools at the same time since 2009.
Lake Buena Vista HS (above, at left) relieves Freedom and Dr. Phillips high schools. Horizon HS relieves Windermere HS.
The school district is also opening a new elementary school - Village Park Elementary - in Lake Nona, and a specialty school for students with behavioral disorders, the Silver Pines Academy K-12 Learning Center.
