For the North Atlantic...Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico:

The National Hurricane Center is issuing advisories on recently
upgraded Tropical Storm Josephine, located over the tropical
Atlantic Ocean several hundred miles east of the Lesser Antilles.

1. A low pressure area over eastern North Carolina is expected to move
east-northeastward across the north Atlantic well to the south of
New England and the Canadian Maritime provinces for the next several
days. This system could acquire some subtropical or tropical
characteristics during the next two to three days while it moves
over warm sea surface temperatures.
* Formation chance through 48 hours...low...20 percent.
* Formation chance through 5 days...low...30 percent.

For the eastern North Pacific...east of 140 degrees west longitude:

The National Hurricane Center is issuing advisories on Tropical
Depression Ten-E, located about 1450 miles west-southwest of the
southern tip of the Baja California peninsula.

1. A surface trough of low pressure located a few hundred miles
west-southwest of Manzanillo, Mexico, continues to produce a large
area of disorganized showers and thunderstorms off the southwestern
coast of Mexico. Even though this system has been slow to
organize, environmental conditions are still conducive for
development before it reaches cooler waters over the weekend, and a
tropical depression is expected to form during the next couple of
days. This system is forecast to move west-northwestward at 10 to
15 mph away from the west-central coast of Mexico.
* Formation chance through 48 hours...high...80 percent.
* Formation chance through 5 days...high...90 percent.

2. A trough of low pressure is located just offshore the Pacific
coast of Central America. Conditions are expected to be conducive
for a low to develop from this trough over the next few days, and
and a tropical depression is likely to form this weekend or early
next week while the system moves generally west-northwestward
just offshore of the southwestern coast of Mexico.
* Formation chance through 48 hours...low...20 percent.
* Formation chance through 5 days...high...70 percent.

1. An area of disturbed weather lies around 830 miles southeast of
Hilo, Hawaii. Slow development is possible as the system moves west
around 10 mph.

* Formation chance through 5 days...medium...50 percent.

Elsewhere, no tropical cyclones are expected during the next 5 days.

DISCUSION Y PRONOSTICO 
----------------------
A las 1100 AM AST (0900 UTC), el centro de la Tormenta Tropical 
Josephine estaba localizado cerca de la latitud 13.7 Norte y 
longitud 49.2 Oeste. Josephine se esta moviendo hacia el oeste 
noroeste a cerca de 15 mph (24 km/h) y se espera que este movimiento 
continue por los proximos dias, seguido por un giro al noroeste 
tarde en el fin de semana o temprano la semana entrante. 

Datos de viento de satelite indican que los vientos maximos han 
aumentado a cerca de 45 mph (75 km/h) con rafagas mas fuertes. Se 
pronostica algun fortalecimiento adicional durante las proximas 48 
horas.

Los vientos de intensidad de tormenta tropical se extienden hasta 80 
millas (130 km) al norte del centro.

La presion central minima estimada es de 1005 mb (29.68 pulgadas).

El Centro Nacional de Huracanes esta emitiendo advertencias sobre la
recien actualizada Tormenta Tropical Josephine, localizada a varios
cientos de millas al este de las Antillas Menores.

Se espera que un area de baja presion sobre el este de Carolina del
Norte se mueva hacia el este noreste a traves del Atlantico norte
bien al sur de Nueva Inglaterra y las provincias Canadian Maritime
por los proximos dias. Este sitema pudiera adquirir algunas
caracteristicas tropicales o subtropicales durante los proximos dos
a tres dias mientras se mueve sobre aguas con temperaturas oceanicas
calidas.
