Notice Under the Americans with Disabilities Act

The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) is a federal civil rights law designated to prevent discrimination and enable individuals with disabilities to participate fully in all aspects of society.

The District is required by state and federal law to provide reasonable accommodations to qualified individuals with disabilities so that employees with disabilities can be afforded the benefits and privileges of employment equal to those enjoyed by similar employees without disabilities. The ADA Department through the Office of Legal Services oversees and coordinates the Reasonable Accommodation process on behalf of the District. If you are an individual with a disability and would like to initiate the ADA Reasonable Accommodation Process click here.
