Orange County Public Schools, in consultation with the Florida Department of Health in Orange County, informed parents at Horizon West Middle School that 6th and 7th grade students will join 8th grade students in pivoting to LaunchED@Home until Monday, Nov. 30. At this time, there are a total of eight face-to-face positive COVID-19 cases which has resulted in nearly 200 quarantines out of 673 face-to-face students.

For the remainder of this week, students will follow their regular schedule throughout the day. Students will be off the entire week of Nov. 23 for the Thanksgiving break. During the pivot, students and staff will not be participating in any school-related events or activities.

All individuals and parents of children who are under quarantine orders have been notified. Please know that information related to any individual’s medical history is confidential and protected by law. During this time the entire campus will be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected.

If any students are in need, curbside meals can be picked up on Monday, Nov. 23 from 9 a.m. to noon. Everyone's health and safety is our top priority.
