OCPS offers 34 Magnet Programs and 29 Scholastic Academies at the elementary, middle, and high school levels, providing students with unique pathways to explore their interests while engaging in rigorous academics and hands-on learning experiences. Whether your child is interested in world languages, visual and performing arts, health sciences, law, finance, STEAM, advanced academics, or other specialized fields, there is a program designed to inspire success and support their goals.
Our nationally recognized programs combine strong academic foundations with real-world learning opportunities that help students build the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed for college, careers, and beyond. Every pathway is designed to help students discover what inspires them and prepare them to achieve their highest aspirations.
Applications for the 2027-2028 school year open October 13 and close December 18, 2026.

OCPS Magnet Programs provide students with unique, theme-based learning experiences not typically found in traditional school settings. These programs allow students to dive deeply into areas such as STEM, the performing and visual arts, medical careers, global studies, language immersion, and more. Magnet Programs are open to students across the district and offer hands-on learning, real-world connections, and advanced academic opportunities. Through innovative instruction and specialized coursework, students can pursue their passions while building skills that prepare them for college, careers, and life.
OCPS Scholastic Academy Programs are designed to elevate academic achievement through enriched, rigorous learning experiences within students’ zoned schools. These academies provide enhanced instruction in core subject areas—such as literacy, mathematics, science, and social studies—while cultivating strong study habits, critical thinking, and a love of learning. Scholastic Academies offer students the chance to engage in challenging curriculum, explore interests more deeply, and build a solid foundation for accelerated pathways in middle and high school. It’s an exciting option for families seeking additional academic focus without applying for a Magnet program.
