Even though it could not occur in person, Multilingual Services continued to celebrate students, teachers and principals at the annual Spirit of Excellence awards ceremony. The pre-recorded show streamed on YouTube.

Fifty English language learner students, 21 staff, and three principals were honored during this event. Student winners were chosen for their academic achievements, the ways they overcame personal challenges, and the success they achieved in learning English while adapting to their new cultural surroundings.

The teachers, staff and principal winners were selected for their impact on the academic and social success of their students, their collaboration with their peers, and their success in engaging parents and community volunteers to support English language learners’ growth and development. The principal honorees were Kristy Logue, Wetherbee Elementary; Betzabeth Reussow, Roberto Clemente Middle; and Martha Chang, Lake Nona High School.
